HESTIM’s governance bodies

Management Committee
The Management Committee coordinates the institution’s various departments. It monitors performance indicators and continuous improvement initiatives, and submits HESTIM development projects relating to education, research and budget to the Institution Council.
It takes into account the opinions and decisions of the Institution Council and provides its governance bodies with the information required for the proper functioning of the institution.

Institution Council
The Institution Council is the principal decision-making body for the institution’s affairs. As such, it addresses all matters relating to the institution’s missions and proper functioning.
Through its various commissions, it determines the institution’s scientific policy, research and development strategy, as well as its activities.

Scientific Council
The responsibilities and composition of the Scientific Council are established by Decree No. 2-09-717 of March 17, 2010. The Scientific Council is responsible for addressing all academic matters, including:
- Ensure the scientific quality of academic programs
- Provide an opinion on the introduction of new academic content
- Maintain scientific and technological monitoring to support the evolution of academic programs
Finally, the Scientific Council provides an opinion on all measures concerning faculty members (recruitment, promotion, qualification, etc.).

Research Commission
The Research Commission determines research and development priorities. It reviews research and scientific development projects, as well as the creation and monitoring of laboratories and research teams. It ensures continuity between the institution’s teaching activities and research.
The commission supports the organization of scientific events upon presentation of a scientific program to the Institution Council.

Academic and Pedagogical Affairs Commission
The Academic and Pedagogical Affairs Commission provides an advisory opinion on the scientific content of teaching, research and innovation programs.
It also provides an opinion on the institution’s external scientific collaboration proposals and examines cases of students referred to the Disciplinary Council.

Student Activities Commission
The Student Activities Commission plays a central role in supporting and assisting students. It proposes specific measures designed to improve guidance, information and student life conditions, while encouraging the organization of extracurricular, sociocultural and sports activities.
The Student Activities Commission meets at least three times a year and whenever necessary, at the request of its coordinator or of half of its members.
